GDPR — What you need to know
The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) is a new set of data privacy parameters for companies. The GDPR further provides rights to users established by the European Union Parliament for all of European customers. The GDPR is effective and enforceable on May 25, 2018.
Yes. Under GDPR, BOLD is required to comply with all of its regulations concerning data privacy for its customers who are so-called European Data Subjects.
Yes. We have fully addressed them and created various internal procedures to ensure total compliance with the GDPR. Our Privacy Policy as well as our Cookies and Tracking Technologies policies contain the necessary information and disclosures for our users.
We collect the following information from our users once an account has been created: contact information, user profile, user content, behavioral, e-commerce history, anonymized content, email. We define these categories as follows:

- Contact information includes anything in your account information which you have provided to us which allows us to contact you such as your name, email address, phone number, physical address, etc.

- User profile includes information which you have provided to us so that we can provide our services to you such as survey responses, career test information, or job classifications (e.g. education level, “what description fits you best”, industry, sub-industry etc.)
- User Content
- User content is document data which we have in the form of resumes, cover letters, and other documents which you have created with and/or uploaded to our services
- Behavioral Data
- Behavioural data includes interactions you have with our services such as account creation date, product statuses, web activity logs, job searches run, etc
- E-commerce History
- E-commerce history is the record of transactions and purchases of our service and includes items such as subscriptions, billing events, credits, and refunds.
- Anonymized Content
- Anonymized content includes logged snippets and samples from resumes and other documents which we may collect, anonymize, and process.
- Email History
- Email History is the record of communications you have had with us and includes items such as job-related messages and customer service interactions.

The GDPR regulation creates the following data privacy rights to all for European data subjects:
(i) right to rectify inaccurate data; (ii) right to erasure (deletion of your personal information); (iii) right to restrict processing of your personal information; (iv) right of data portability; and (v) right to object.
Under GDPR, European data subjects have the right to obtain from us without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate personal information concerning their respective account on our site. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, the users shall have the right to have incomplete personal information completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.
Under GDPR, European data subjects have the right to request erasure or deletion of their personal information collected by Provider in connection to the account within the site, without undue delay. It is also known as the right to be forgotten.
Under GDPR, European data subjects have the right to restrict processing of their personal information if (i) the accuracy of the personal information is contested by the data subject, for a period enabling the Provider to verify the accuracy of the personal information which shall be done under the users’ consent; (ii) the processing is unlawful and the data subject opposes the erasure of the personal information and requests the restriction of their use instead; (iii) the Provider no longer needs the personal information for the purposes of the processing, but they are required by the data subject for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims; (iv) the data subject has objected to processing pursuant to Article 21(1) pending the verification whether the legitimate grounds of the Provider override those of the data subject. Please note that while we can prevent further processing your personal information in the future; however, once we have processed your personal information we are not able as a technical matter to un-process data previously processed.
Under GDPR, European data subjects obtain the right to receive their personal information given to us through the site in a commonly used and machine-readable format – if it was collected in an automated way. The users may also transmit their information to another Provider or controller of data.
Under GDPR, European data subjects, have the right to object at any time to processing of personal information concerning them. When the data subject objects, we will no longer process their personal information unless we can demonstrate compelling, legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of the user or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Where personal information is processed for direct marketing purposes, then you will have the right to object at any time to processing of personal information concerning you for such marketing.

Yes. Our users are enabled to rectify, modify, or amend their personal information collected through their subscription to our services. Within your account on our site you can correct certain elements of your personal information such as your contact information, user profile, and user content. You may edit content in documents such as your resume directly within the product You may click here to correct personal info within your account’s ‘My Settings’. Please note that behavioral, e-commerce history, and email are event-based and not subject to correction. Yes, please contact our Customer Service team at: 844-351-7484 to submit your request and initiate corresponding procedures. Please note that when you withdraw consent to processing we can prevent further processing your personal information in the future; however, once we have processed your personal information we are not able as a technical matter to un-process data previously processed.
Yes. All of our customers who are European data subjects can request our Customer Service Team to erase certain of their provided personal information or can delete their account at the following link: Personal Info . This functionality will only allow you to delete all of the personal data we hold. If you would like use to delete only a subset of your data, please contact customer service at 844-351-7484 . Moreover, once you delete your account your personal information will cease to be processed by us and shared with third parties. Please note that certain information in your profile including e-commerce history and email are event-based and may be retained in archival form for business records. Account deletions are effective immediately and are irreversible. For more specific deletion requests, we will process your request as quickly as we can, but are obligated by law to respond within one month.
Yes. In the event that you want to rectify your personal information, you can request us to stop processing until it is rectified. Please note that while we can prevent further processing of your personal information in the future; however, once we have processed your personal information we are not able as a technical matter to un-process data previously processed.
Yes. Our customers who are European data subjects can request a copy (free of charge) of their personal information transmitted through a ‘commonly used and machine-readable format’ within the site. Afterwards, you can also share it with another controller if you wish. Within your account on our site you can download certain elements’) of your personal information such as your contact information, user profile, and user content. You may request from us to download other personal information such as behavioral data and e-commerce history. Depending on the complexity of the request, we will answer in a timely manner to data portability requests, but are obligated by law to respond within one month.

As long as your account is open within the site, we will retain personal information of its users. If you decide to cancel or terminate your account, your personal information will not be retained any longer.
