Why a career coach?
Although there are people lucky enough to find a first career they love that stretches to last a lifetime, for the majority of us, especially as we grow and change – and as we encounter new circumstances – a career or job, even one that once fit us well, may no longer be right for us.
My goal as a career coach is to help support you at any point along your career journey. No need to go it alone any more.
“There are times in all our lives when we can use a little help.”
Types of coaching services
Whether you’re starting a job search, deciding on a new career, looking for help with your current position, or even beginning a new job, there’s a lot more to the process than just finding the right methods for your particular situation. This is new territory and it raises all kinds of emotions, feelings, fears and self-doubts that can get in the way of reaching your goals.
That’s where a good career coach can help. We’ll work together, at your pace, to help you find answers that are right for you. Wherever you live, if you need caring career support tailored to your needs, I offer the following services, conveniently available by phone:
Career transition coaching
Change can be good. But it’s also scary. And it takes place on its own schedule, no matter how we’d like to rush it along. I can help guide you through job choice decisions and other career change processes, providing support, comfort, and, where applicable, concrete steps to help you find what you’re really looking for.
Job search advice & support
We can work on any type of job search coaching you need – job search strategy, resume and cover letter feedback, interview techniques, interview question & answer tips, interview practice, pre-interview pep talks, confidence building, networking tips, and plenty of old-fashioned encouragement & support.
Career & Workplace Mentoring
Sometimes it helps to have someone you can trust to talk to. Not a career coach. Just someone who will really listen and who isn’t pushing their own agenda or idea of what you “need” to be. Someone who can offer gentle feedback, idea exploration, and support based on the relationship we build over time.
When I mentor, I don’t tell you what to do — I listen carefully and objectively, and help you figure things out for yourself. It’s a much stronger and longer-lasting solution. Then again there are those times you just need to hear yourself say things out loud to someone who gets it — and that alone can help you de-stress!
If you’re looking for a magical guru, that’s not me. Well … maybe occasional sprinkles of magic dust here and there. 🙂 But if you’re looking for caring support from someone who has a wide-angle view of life, careers, and the world of work, I’d love to help.

Paul D., Career Development Coach
“Ronnie Ann is an outstanding career development professional. She’s one of the best coaches I have met and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her as part of my own career journey. Whether coach or coachee, my demands are simple: plans are clear & effective; the coaching relationship is based on growth, learning & trust; goals & progress are motivational today and as far as the eye can see. In my experience Ronnie Ann delivers all this and more, which is why I have no hesitation recommending her as an insightful, talented and visionary career development coach.”
Kathleen N., Non-profit Manager
“Ronnie Ann worked with me as a coach during one of the hardest times of my life. After giving my all to an organization I helped create, the Board decided to get rid of me. I was devastated. I can honestly say that it was Ronnie Ann who helped me see this for what it eventually wound up being, a chance to create something new in my life. She was supportive and caring through the entire ordeal and because of her business background, she understood the organizational aspects of what I was going through, even helping me through the end stages so that I could leave with my head held high. Which I am proud to say I did! I will always be grateful to Ronnie Ann for her gentle guidance through a truly life-changing time.”
Marielle M., Publishing Website Producer
“Ronnie Ann is clever, encouraging, and inspiring. She has tremendous insight into the struggles of getting (or keeping) a job in today’s corporate atmosphere, and applies plenty of tools and talent toward helping you find your true calling amid the chaos and distractions of everyday life. She gives great advice and makes the situation you’re in, whatever it may be, seem manageable, helping you find solutions you may never have considered on your own.”
Louise A., Founder Intentional Communication Consultants
“I’ve had the pleasure to work with Ronnie Ann in a number of capacities and her dedication, attention to detail, empathy and wit have never wavered. Apart from her extensive business and non-profit expertise, Ronnie Ann’s clients can expect a deep commitment to their needs and a willingness to bring new, creative resources to every interaction. I followed her (previous) successful blog, Work Coach Cafe, closely and even with “strangers” Ronnie extended herself to offer high quality information and insights, presented with warmth and exceptional thoughtfulness. Ronnie Ann’s an exceptional career coach who will make your search for work or a new direction in life easier, more fulfilling and effective.”
