Methodology

Resume Now analysts used data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook (March 2025) and the O*NET Work Styles database to identify high-innovation, high-growth careers that are resistant to AI displacement. Occupations were selected based on the following criteria:

• Salary: Median annual pay of at least $60,000.
• Innovation Score: 78 or higher, based on O*NET's "Innovation" measure, which reflects how much a job requires creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas and solutions.
• Job Growth: Projected to grow as fast as or much faster than average through 2033.
• Employment Size: At least 16,000 total U.S. jobs in 2023 (total employment, not projected new jobs).
• AI Resilience: Core responsibilities emphasize creativity, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and strategic thinking—human skills that AI cannot easily replicate.
